Internal Audits & Audit Prep

It doesn’t make sense for small manufacturers to staff full-time auditors, and Quality Managers face the challenge of finding an auditor for their own processes who is both impartial and competent in auditing.
We offer internal audit support that helps you confidently meet the impartiality requirement in Clause 9.2.2.c, as well as audit prep to help uncover potential findings before your surveillance or certification audit.
Our auditing goal is to deliver an in-depth assessment of the health of your QMS, and we bring the perspective of both a 3rd Party Lead Auditor and former DOE Defense Prime Supplier Quality Engineering Manager.
QMS Consulting

Registrars are held to the same impartiality requirements as Quality Managers. You have a registrar you trust with certification, but they can’t consult on your QMS.
We can help with scaling, scope changes, getting ready for ISO 9001:2026 or IA9100, or any other needs you may have.
Training

We can provide on-site or remote training on nearly any subject related to quality, leveraging our passion for education and experience as a Lead Manufacturing Engineering Lab TA at Iowa State University.

QMS Implementations

Your quality system should always be built to your customer's requirements and specifications. Our goal is to build a system that isn't just audit-ready, but also gives your customer the confidence that they think of you first when they need good parts that meet the contract.
We've also spent enough time in the trenches to know that quality systems that are too slow or burdensome become a hindrance to your ability to deliver to your customer's needs.
Our philosophy is that your quality system should be as lean as possible while meeting the standard, and only exceed the standard in response to an identified customer need.
Coming soon: Free online QMS Maturity Assessment

If your quality system is at least mostly doing what it needs to do already, you might be closer to certification than you realize.
There are a few free online gap analysis tools out there, but most are little more than a checklist of dozens of clauses without the benefit of the rest of the standard that explains what they actually mean.
We've taken a different route by creating an assessment that focuses on the most important and difficult to develop attributes and characteristics of a solid quality system, giving a more holistic perspective of your quality system's maturity.
