This website is owned and operated by Big W Engineering Solutions LLC. These Terms set forth the terms and conditions under which you may use our website and services as offered by us. This website offers visitors information on Big W Engineering Solutions LLC services and contact information. By accessing or using the website of our service, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

We may, without prior notice, change the services; stop providing the services or any features of the services we offer; or create limits for the services. We may permanently or temporarily terminate or suspend access to the services without notice and liability for any reason, or for no reason.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Big W Engineering Solutions LLC be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including without limitation, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Big W Engineering Solutions LLC assumes no liability or responsibility for any (i) errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content; (ii) personal injury or property damage, of any nature whatsoever, resulting from your access to or use of our service; and (iii) any unauthorized access to or use of our secure servers and/or any and all personal information stored therein.

We reserve the right to modify these terms from time to time at our sole discretion. Therefore, you should review these page periodically. When we change the Terms in a material manner, we will notify you that material changes have been made to the Terms. Your continued use of the Website or our service after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to any of these terms or any future version of the Terms, do not use or access (or continue to access) the website or the service.

You agree to receive from time to time promotional messages and materials from us, by mail, email or any other contact form you may provide us with (including your phone number for calls or text messages). If you don't want to receive such promotional materials or notices – please just notify us at any time.

These Terms, the rights and remedies provided hereunder, and any and all claims and disputes related hereto and/or to the services, shall be governed by, construed under and enforced in all respects solely and exclusively in accordance with the internal substantive laws of the state of Kansas, without respect to its conflict of laws principles. Any and all such claims and disputes shall be brought in, and you hereby consent to them being decided exclusively by a court of competent jurisdiction located in Osawatomie Municipal Court. The application of the United Nations Convention of Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is hereby expressly excluded.

AI Usage Statement

We believe that integrity is built on transparency, and as such have chosen to declare that some elements of this website, including images, some products, text, and site design have been created using artificial intelligence.  Our stance on AI is that it serves humanity best as an aide to existing expert judgement, or more colloquially as "my little helper."  We approach the use of this technology with the same risk-based approach that we would with any other developing technology.  As of May 2026, here are the products which may have been developed with the assistance of artificial intelligence:

  1. Images:  Some Blog images have been created using AI; many of these will be easy to spot.  Our order of preference for image usage is images we can obtain directly (this is often difficult due to security requirements in most manufacturing facilities), open source or stock images, and finally AI-generated images.  Most often, AI-generated images will be used in situations where broad concepts are being discussed, when an AI-generated image could augment a theme better than a generic stock photo.

  2. Products:  Some products may be generated with the assistance of LLMs.  Doing so is not only a great boon to efficiency, but also provides a much broader perspective than any single person could provide.  When LLMs are used, they are typically used for high-level outlines or shells, which are later refined.  We find that this baseline, when combined with real experience, results in a significantly better product than could be obtained with a $20 Claude subscription alone, and a higher-quality end product at a lower price than could be obtained conventionally.

  3. Text:  This area we have approached with the most caution.  We have been praised on our organic writing style, and have observed general flippance towards others' use of generative AI writing.  As such, we do use LLMs to assist with writing in limited instances, which may include the following:

    1. Summaries and pitches.  LLMs are just plain better at this; they can easily summarize the key points of a 5 page article, and are much better at selling my services than I ever will be.  These are the only significant bodies of text that often meet my standards.

    2. Topics and themes.  Just as LLMs can provide a broader perspective in the development of products, they are very efficient at providing strategic direction with regards to which topics are of greatest interest to small-medium manufacturers in AS&D. 

    3. Not used for:  Wholesale body text.  I've tried it, and I'm simply never satisfied.  Asking AI to write a blog post in its entirety has not yet resulted in a product that meets my standards.  They often include fabricated stories, and also suffer from the fault of being deterministic in nature:  Because models are deterministic, every response will be "optimized" to whatever the input conditions are.  Just as asking an LLM to give you a random number is likely to result in 27 being considered the "optimal random number," I found that blog posts all seemed to come as the same 3 scoops of derivative junk from a big pot of generic thought leadership.  I can do better.  

  4. Site design:  This site was initially generated by Wix's AI site design package.  Although 99% of AI-generated content has been replaced, and so has 90% of the AI-generated structure, it did provide the initial conditions of what this website is today, including style and color choices.
